Albert’s century, Habib 50 propel Enterprise A to huge win

A fine century by Vivian Albert and an attacking half century by opener Ameer Habib guided Enterprise A to 167-run victory over Lusignan A when the Enterprise Busta SC 40-over tournament continued on Sunday.
Albert struck nine fours and a similar number of sixes in a robust 151, while Habib hammered nine fours and three sixes in scoring 70 as host Enterprise A posted a challenging 318-6 after they decided to bat. Off-spinner Travis Persaud picked up two wickets.
In reply, Lusignan were reduced to 21-4 before Hiradeo Jailall and Persaud put on 105 for the fifth-wicket to steady the chase. Jailall struck two fours and four sixes in a top score of 44, while Persaud hit two fours and five sixes in 41. But when they were separated in quick succession, only Krishnan Jailall of the remaining batsmen offered any resistance with 29 as Lusignan A were bowled out for 151. Stephan Stuart, Beshram Samaroo, Pradesh Balkishun and Rohan Mangal captured two wickets each.
On Saturday at Strathavon, Enterprise A beat the home team by six wickets. Batting first, Strathavon were sent packing for 79 in 25 overs. Amar Persaud made 20 and Bhojnarine Seepersaud 16; Himnauth Dindyal grabbed 5-30 and Pradesh Balkishun 3-13.
Enterprise A responded with 82-4 in 18.1 overs. Dindyal made 28 and Balkishun 24 not out.
In another fixture played previously, Lusignan B went down to Enterprise A by seven wickets.
Lusignan B were bowled out for 115 in 24.3 overs, taking first strike. Y. Mootram made 29 not out and N. Persaud 16. Chanderpaul Singh claimed 2-21 and Dave Persaud 2-24.
