I just saw the Alberta Premier address to the Province.  I watched it on TV about 30 minutes ago.  The province gets nearly 40 % of its revenue from Oil and gas royalties.  Yet they are now only collecting enough royalties from the oil and gas to pay for the education budget of the province (which is 6 billion dollars). They are not getting any more money to pay for the other programs.  On top of that every year enough people equivalent to the size of the population of the city of Red Deer keep on arriving in the province from other parts of Canada and the world.  Big trouble coming.  It look like I better off packing my stuff up and heading back to Obama.  He will probably take me back if I promise to vote for the democrats in the next election.

Warrior, Obama will never give permission for the pipe line.  No democrat president will want to be known as the President that caused a foreign oil pipeline to spill oil on American land.  The democrats depend on the environmental vote.  Also why import oil from a foreign country when you can get it from North Dakota and create all related jobs in America.  Obama is a very smart and ruthless guy.  He is not a stupid man like some of these republicans.

I for one as a Canadian feel grateful that no oil line runs across the land, this was a dam stupid idea in the first place.

Cain, Alberta has become so dependent on oil exports for economic survival that without that other pipeline being build to the British Columbia  west coast to ship Alberta oil to China then the Alberta economy will be in more serious financial trouble. The problem is that the government of British Columbia will not allow any Alberta pipeline to run across their land without they (British Columbia) getting a large chunk of the revenues from that oil.  I don't blame British Columbia for wanting most of the revenue from the Alberta oil pipeline because they (British Columbia) are taking most of the risk (being a tourist place) if that pipleline was to burst and spill oil on their land then they lose tourist money in the long run.  The British Columbia premeir is very smart in seeing this.
