Women leaders in Region Three are undergoing leadership training, the Department of Public Information (DPI) said yesterday.The fourth in a series of training workshops to boost the leadership skills of women active in their Local Democratic Organs was opened yesterday morning in the boardroom of the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara Regional Democratic Council boardroom at Vreed-en-Hoop.Minister of Public Affairs Dawn Hastings-Williams in her remarks expressed the wish to see more women assuming leadership roles at the local government level and assisting in the development of their community.The two-day workshop is organised by the Guyana Womenβs Leadership Institute under the purview of the Ministry of Social Protection. It will address laws of local government among other areas.
