All set for final stages of BVA Inter school competition today at Port Mourant

With the teams confirmed and the date and venue finalized, all is now set for the final stages of the Berbice Volleyball Association (BVA) inter school competition.
The event is set to be held today at the Port Mourant Training School court beginning at 09:00hrs.  The quarter finals, semifinals and final in both the male and female categories will be played.
Before they reached to that stage the schools were divided into four zones with the top two teams in each zone advancing to the quarter finals stage of the tournament.  There zones are Upper Corentyne , Central Corentyne , Lower Corentyne and New Amsterdam/ Canje zone
The schools making it through are in the male category – from the New Amsterdam/ Canje zone are Berbice High School (BHS) and New Amsterdam Multilateral Secondary (NAMS)
Lower Corentyne – Corentyne Comprehensive Secondary (CCSS) and Port Mourant Secondary (PMSS)
Central Corentyne Central – Central Corentyne High (CCH) and Black Bush Secondary (BBS) Upper Corentyne will be represented by Tagore Memorial and Skeldon High
In the female department the schools making it through are –NAMS and BHS for NA/ Canje, CCSS from lower Corentyne, Manchester Secondary and Central Corentyne Secondary from Central and Skeldon High and Line Path Secondary representing Upper Corentyne.
The tournament is also being used to begin selection of a Guyana U18 team to represent the country at the Inter Guiana Games 2018.
The top teams in the competition along with outstanding individual performances will be presented with trophies and other incentives compliments of the BVA and Director of Sports Christopher Jones and the National Sports Commission.
