PRESIDENT Donald Ramotar will address world leaders at the 67th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, September 27 at the UN Headquarters, New York, in the United States.
The major initiative, during the President’s visit abroad, will be the launching of the Diaspora Initiative, which is a web-based survey of Guyanese who would be registered with specific attention paid to their skills. President Ramotar is due to arrive on Sunday.

That being said, I would like to see government set aside a piece of land in each village to make a small park for children to play and have fun. That alone will be a big accomplishment. I have a double lot of land in Berbice that I reserved to donate for that purpose.

This is the TRUE Guyanese Spirit but when I look and listen to Moses, Ramjattan and GR I have to bow my head in SHAME. These people are indeed SHAMELESS. Six wata tank and dem want the nobel prize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nehru

They are down playing the solar panels distributed to the hinterland as useless and praising the empty barrels. They are replacing real computers with wooden boxes to downplay the government OLPF initiatives. The AFC is made up of uncivilized men and women. They think the stadium is a cake shop to make a money every day. They don't want a Marriott hotel, they want to give tourist logies to sleep in.

I was going to suggest you lend him some of your tax skills, but when I refer to the W.Field's case, that might not be such a good idea.
Then you could even avail youself in the propaganda capacity. I'm sure OP could do with a Rev.
No need for Abhida, too much rum bottle. Guyanese drinking enough as it is.

Housing Policy - Every Citizen a Home

The AFC will initiate a campaign called β€œRenewing the Dream” which will expand and upgrade housing development away from the seaside and facilitate home ownership - not only house lot distribution.  Unlike the current housing policy, the AFC will integrate housing development with the development of local industries that will generate local wealth and jobs. We will make sure that a certain percentage of building materials are manufactured in Guyana in an effort to establish production linkages with housing.  AFC will:
1.    Ensure basic infrastructure such as electricity, drainage, roads, water and other facilities are in place as house lots are issued;
2.    Facilitate the process whereby Credit Union savings can be used as collateral for low interest Housing loans;
3.    Support a National Volunteer Corps that will help the needy build their homes;
4.    Establish new communities and towns in the
Hinterland;
5.    Establish a special fund for providing subsidies to mortgage companies for low interest loans to low
income families;
6.    Build starter homes for single parents and other
vulnerable persons in society in every housing scheme being developed;
7.    Build retirement villages with all the appropriate amenities (health care to recreation) to attract retirees from the Diaspora;
8.    In keeping with our national beautification drive, green spots and parks will be established in each housing area and village;
9.    Industrial development and production linkages will be tied to housing with the private sector given tax
incentives to develop locally produced housing materials from local raw materials;
10  Standardise the building codes for all new buildings and provide free standardized house plans for prospective new home owners;
11. Develop a National Housing Database for strategic planning;
12. Create new commercial and industrial zones within new housing areas to enable easy access to these industries to a suitable workforce.

Another reckless attempt by Nagamootoo to perpetuate liesPDFPrintE-mail

 YET again there is another attempt by AFC Vice- Chairman Moses Nagamootoo to perpetuate his lies, distortion and misinformation. The Kaieteur News article yesterday titled: β€˜Nagamootoo calls for continuation of NCN debates’  is a reckless attempt at dishonesty which should not go unchallenged for one moment.Nagamootoo is aware that the NCN seven-part debate series provided for equal representation from the

government and opposition, precisely, two spaces for each group. The others who appeared on the debates were experts for the specific subject areas and civil society representative on each panel. NCN cannot be responsible for the absence of APNU who opted out of  the debate series.
The only reason why Nagamootto would deliberately refuse to mention the fact that provisions were made for the opposition to have two representatives at each debate is because he believes his dishonesty would miss the attention of Guyanese.
You cannot say the debate was useful and at the same time undermine this very sentiment by offering reckless lies, distortion and misinformation. Nagamoottoo is behaving like the cricketer who blames the loss of the game on the bat and not his skills.
As for Nagamootoo’s  other comments, specifically the one regarding his perception of the government’s lack of openness, society has already judged this to be pure rhetoric given the fact that the debates provided for the opposition to produce specific evidence of corruption against the government and they (the opposition) were found wanting. It is absolutely clear that the opposition is more about spreading rumours, propaganda and wild assertions.

 You people are a bunch of conmen, even the great US can not house its citizens and you making campaign promises in a 3rd world nations to do what 1st world nations can't accomplish. Just like you did in Linden when you folks convince the people that they deserve free electricity while Amerindian and Indian villages pay full price.

Stabroek News  (19 April 2012): Government and the APNU have agreed that with regard to Linden, the elimination of the subsidy and the alignment with GPL tariffs are necessary.
Reporting on the ongoing discussions between the government and APNU, Prime Minister Sam Hinds told the National Assembly this afternoon that the talks focused on Linden and disclosed that in relation to electricity tariffs, it was further agreed that the first stage of the tariff adjustment this year would be implemented β€œalong the lines outlined and in a manner that would ensure adherence to the allocation provided” in the budget.
The Prime Minister Sam Hinds also told the National Assembly that government plans to grant television broadcast licences all over Guyana, including at Linden.
