The November 28 national and regional elections had presented the nation with an unprecedented edict, a special political dispensation, it was an advancement towards consolidation and entrenchment of democratic norms in our country. The PPP gaining 32 seats, was awarded the Executive branch of government with the combined oppositions (APNU/ AFC) 26 and 7 seats respectively, controlling the Legislative extension of government.

What should have been an opportunity to work together in propelling the country forward in achieving national unity, security and socio-economical prosperity for the betterment of all Guyanese, has now become a political game of "stare down", instead, the country's future has been hijacked by the combined oppositions contemptuous attempt at provoking anarchy through their myopic and puerile political posturing only to accomplish parliamentary gridlock, which threatens to undo social and economic development of the previous Administration.

Its apparent that the APNU/ AFC coalition agenda is to utilize their singular parliamentary edge to expropriate the Selection Committee, which if unfortunately permitted to execute its clandestine motive, could see the combined opposition, by extension, undermining and dictating the agendum of the Executive government. Take into account, Mr. Greenidge purposed boycotting of the budgetary discussion exposes the APNU/ AFC coalition intentions of creating political gridlock on matters of national significance, frustrating the government's every attempt at being consultative and inclusive. Consequently, Mr. Greenidge's justification for his blatant refusal and objection to the budgetary consultation is in him regarding such an opportunity as a ''public relation show''.

If such politiking is going to become regualr with the APNU/ AFC gang in parliament, then I have no qualms whatsoever with returning to the polling stations to see that justice for the people of this proud nation is served by returning the equilibrium of power.
