We are now almost at the point where APNU-AFC is about to be seated as the new Government. Show us that you lot are better than the PPP is/was.

This was a divisive election which exposed the deep racial fissures of the country. On the plus side a Black-Indian Coalition won power. I take some pleasure in that too and I want to give the Coalition a chance to work. Let the PPP/C supporters play a constructive role. Do not seek to rip them to shreds in victory. Make your victory a victory for all of us and for all of Guyana.

The PPP was/is a classless tasteless party who demonizes all and sundry who oppose them on even a minor point of little to no consequence.

I will be advocating strongly for a reformed PPP/C in Opposition that will learn that issues count and that the party must democratize, support the new Government where possible, and oppose them where necessary.

Let's all be adults and play our roles well.

Once again I restate my congratulations to a victorious Coalition and ask indulgence for the PPP/C as they seek to utilize the legal options at their disposal to protect the integrity of the ballots of the 49% of the nation that cast a ballot for them.

Get the hell out of here and go suck an egg, what does Shit stain know about grace?

One side of your mouth you are hollering about grace the other side of your ahole you are talking about using the courts to ensure protection of votes for the PPP?

Listen to this disingenuous hypocrite.

You used to be such a nice guy before the election cycle.  Go back to what you once were.

Election over.  Transition beginning.  Forgive those who got lost and help them find their way back.

I'm sure not enough. But one of the great things about Western democracy is that we all briefly come together after an election and congratulate the winner and the winner is magnanimous in victory. We Guyanese should emulate this great Western tradition.

There is tonight an Indian population and Diaspora that is deeply troubled by the fact that the PNC has returned to the Presidency with it's awesome powers intact (at least formally) and the tone of the Coalition in victory can mitigate a lot of the angst of these PPP/C supporters. The Coalition is coming to office on a 51% win. 49% of the people voted against the Coalition. Let's all set a new tone.

I agree.  It was this bitchy vindictive attitude that prevented the PPP from expanding its base.  This does NOT represent Moses or David and the people who surround them!

Whatever. Please don't lose sight of the point I'm trying to make. Them people 49% or 46% are still roughly half of the country that voted AGAINST the Coalition, mostly Indians who now find themselves in a precarious state for the first time in 23 years.

This is exactly the place Guyanese Blacks found themselves in 1992. The PPP/C behaved like pigs in office. I'm just saying let's be careful not to emulate the PPP/C. Even the best parties can succumb to depravities when married to the near-absolute power granted by our Constitution to Governments.

Unfortunately some of these AFC posters on GNI are frighteningly close to Moses. I hope he keeps them at arm's length.

As I predicted Janet rose up from the dead to beat up Ramotar for losing a FREE and FAIR election to the PNC (and PPP traitors).  Burnham also woke up and congratulated Ramotar for giving the PNC a chance to redeem itself.

Jagdeo was also seen  nursing a burst lip due to its contact with Janet's fist.

bai shut you rass, with 570k electors and 2299 polling station there can hardly be more than 250 votes to count  on average at any polling station. It is pure bunk that it should take so long or that we selected morons who cannot count beyond 300. Your sententious commentary about sensitivity is grating. You engaged in increasing the friction and heating up the atmosphere with your relentless bullshit from the nature of "indianness" to Moses qualifications to represent "indians" to speculations on Benchop the idiot splitting the vote etc.

Do you people understand that GECOM is about to remove an incumbent government on the strength of like 1% of the vote between the parties?

Why should they not exercise an abundance of caution to make sure they got it right?

Guyana is not America or Britain. We have a unique history with 1/2 of the country always feeling cheated in our electoral process.

It is important that the PPP/C and their supporters more importantly understand and accept that they lost fair and square and were not cheated. In our circumstance, 1/2 of the country should not walk away feeling cheated in what was largely a very racially divisive result. Almost all Blacks/Mixed voted APNU. And the large majority of Indians voted PPP/C. This situation demands a careful approach. GECOM did well under the circumstances. They have an almost impossible mandate. Free and fair elections with an exacting accurate count and the exacting application of allocation formulas in a racial election with elements of the country ready, willing, and able to set the capital on fire.
