yes, the seeds are the property of the patent holder and most are infertile and will not germinate without their special "sauce".

Further, the fruits are developed for looks and uniformity and not taste. Taste an orange from here and one from the Islands that has not been tinkered with.

There must be emphasis in every society to maintain and preserve their heirloom vegetables and fruits.

I think everyone should care for many reasons...but as we can see even on here the response is pretty much non-existent and that was one of the reasons for this post; to see the awareness and interest of people.

the research, by the corporations, on the risk of these products are far too little and too short a time period on too small a sample size, hence, the risks. When others do the same research as the corporations over a longer period with a larger sample size and show the risks to health of using these products, the results are shot down by the corporations and scientists with known ties to these corporations.

I am not against them selling GMO and products containing GMOs but the products and produce must be marked as such so that people can make a more informed choice.

Also, I would like to see stricter controls on the same product being classified a food and a herbicide/pesticide at the same time for reasons that we do not know how much of it gets into the food we eat, it is know that it does get into the ground water and shows up in human urine samples.

The problem is that in North America there are too many lobby groups in both Canada and the USA where it seems the main motive is profits at all costs.

I am as capitalist as it gets but not at a wilful risk to life. I take issue when corporations have the rights of citizens and citizens are told we must sacrifice freedoms for security and if we have nothing to hide then no need to be worried, yet, corporations that have the rights as citizens do fight to prohibit the marking GMO products in the USA and Canada - if they have nothing to hide then nothing to be afraid of
