Home Affairs Minister, Parliamentarian and Longstanding Member of the People's Progressive Party/Civic, Hon. Clement Rohee was sucessfully removed from office by the Joint Opposition's Parliamentary Motion of No Confidence. At approximately 2:00am this morning, After 12 hours of Deliberation and heated debate between the Right and Left Sides of Parliament, a vote was taken with the Joint Opposition AFC/APNU voting against the Minister. Rohee received the full support of the government as they fought against the motion. Rohee in capacity as Minister of Home Affairs came under criticism when three Linden Protesters were gunned down execution style during the Linden Protests against the hike in Electricity Rates. The Minister attempted to denounce that he had any involvement in the matter and further reiterated that he was in no way granted control over the actions of the Guyana Police Force, On a television interview on the National Communications Network NCN Channel 11, Rohee was quoted as saying that: His conscience is clear and he can sleep at nights knowing that he played no part in the shooting of the Lindeners as well as the instructions given to the ranks! He was also brought under fire when questioned about the GYD$37M Anti-Riot Water Cannon not being deployed instead of using live rounds thus results in the bloodbath. The President being the sole selector of the Cabinet must now re-select another member within the ruling party to serve as Minister of Home Affairs.
