Audience treated to dazzling performances …as Children’s Mash competition continues

 

It was yet another grand day of performance as the Primary and Secondary School dance and masquerade segment of the Georgetown leg of the Children’s Mashramani Competition continued at the National Cultural Centre (NCC) today.

 

Nursery, Primary and Secondary school students, parents and teachers packed the NCC where they were treated to dazzling performances, as the participants demonstrated   “Cultural Folklore, Celebrating 44” in grand style.

The well bedecked students took part in the Religious Belief, Interpretive and Legends and Traditions, Social Commentary, and Hip-Hop categories.

 

In the individual 11-13 years Social Commentary, North Georgetown Secondary gained first place, followed by North Ruimveldt Secondary, and East Ruimveldt Secondary in the third spot.

Legends and traditions saw St Winefride’s Secondary copping first place and St Pius Primary and Sophia Special School gaining second and third respectively.

 

In the Religious Beliefs category, St Rose’s High placed first; Christ Church Secondary, second, and Queen’s College third, while Charlestown Secondary and Sophia Special School secured first and second respectively in the Interpretive category.

For the group Religious Beliefs in the 11-13 years category, North Ruimveldt copped first place, while St Joseph came second, followed by Lodge Secondary.  In the Interpretive category, North Georgetown took the first; Christ Church Secondary, second, and Brickdam Secondary, third, while Christ Church Secondary and St Joseph High placed first and second in the Social Commentary category.

Tucville Secondary, Queen’s College and St Winefride’s Secondary placed first, second and third in the Legends and Traditions category.

 

In the 14-17 years individual Social Commentary category, North Ruimveldt Secondary placed first; North Georgetown Secondary, second and Central High third, while for the Legends and Traditions, South Ruimveldt Secondary copped first, followed by East Ruimveldt Secondary, second and St Stanislaus College, third.

Religious Beliefs saw Richard Ishmael taking the first; St Winefride’s Secondary, second and Central High, third, while Tutorial High copped first in the interpretive category, followed by Christ Church and Charlestown Secondary, which placed second and third respectively.

 

For the group Social Commentary, Richard Ishmael gained first place; South Ruimveldt Second and St Joseph, third. The Legends and Traditions category saw South Ruimveldt placing first, followed by North Georgetown Secondary, and Brickdam Secondary.

Richard Ishmael, the Business School and Christ Church placed first, second and third in the Religious Beliefs category, while for the Interpretive category, Richard Ishmael placed first; Christ Church Second and Central High third.

 

For the Hip-Hop, 11-13 years category, North Ruimveldt placed first for being the only entry, while the 14-17 years category saw St Joseph High gaining first place, followed by North Ruimveldt Secondary, second and Monar Educational Institute, third.

Meanwhile, for Masquerade, Lodge Secondary took the prize for being the only entry in the group 14-17 years category.
