Long Returning:
A voice said softly, "Aunty Chinoo's son";
as I stepped into the Church
aback of Liverpool Village on the Corentyne coast.
It was the first time I returned to this place in 50 years,
last time was with my mother selling fish.
I went with Sita for the funeral of Euna Winefred Sampson,
late mother of one of my security agents.
A great send-off with songs and music for an icon of the village.
At the mention of my own mothers name,
the full Church applauded
