to the allegation that she, on February 7, at Vlissengen Road, tried to fraudulently obtain $400,000 from Tricia Persaud by pretending to have a DVD showing Persaud’s husband engaging in sexual activity.

It was the police’s case that on the said day, Persaud made arrangements to hand over the money to Khan. Khan, according to prosecutor Michael Grant, walked to the victim’s car on Vlissengen Road, where she was apprehended and taken to the Criminal Investigation Department, Eve Leary before the exchange was made.

With no objections from Grant, Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry granted Khan her release on $125,000 bail and the case was adjourned until March 10, when statements will be heard.
