Armed bandits on Friday evening invaded Tiwari’s Drug Store at Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara, from where they carted off over $1 million in cash.

The attack, which took place around 7.45 pm at Lot 6 Uitvlugt Front, saw Tularam Tiwari, 55, being held at gunpoint by the bandits, who relieved him of $1,065,000.

Sunday Stabroek was told that two bandits, both of whom were armed with handguns, entered the drug store and held Tiwari at gunpoint.

One of the men reportedly pointed his gun at Tiwari and demanded that he open the grill leading past the counter.

Tiwari complied and the other suspect took out his firearm and pointed it towards him.

This is vital info for copycat bandits. The size of the booty is worth the risk.

News should always be reported as an undisclosed amount of money. For the protection of the victims from future crime

Exactly my thought. I also feel they publish too much details on the actions of the bandits.

What a change in attitudes. Back when the PPP was in power, these types of crimes was an indication of their incompetence. Today, the APNU escapes unscathed and devoid of accountability.

Exactly, Mits would say these criminals were fathered by Jagdeo and now they graduated as criminals. Some might even say to blame Jagan.

I remember that shop at Uitvlugt junction, in my days it was owned by Boop Tiwari, I heard he has passed on. There was also Neranjan Singh drug store in Ocean View. WHERE IS GILBAKKA HE WOULD KNOW THESE FOLKS????

Mitwah is giving his fambily Ramjattan free pass.

Very sad news about this robbery, GNI gone fuh channa. Indo businesses need to arm themselves with AK 47's to defend themselves against an escalation of crime under AFC/PNC.

The crime situation will get worse as the economy declines while they still have an incompetent security minister in charge. Rohee was 1000 times better than an impotent Ramjattan.
