Mark Benschop join with Rastafarians to picket the Attorney General office in Guyana, telling the government to revisit the marijuana law. It means, the people he supports only want to smoke dope freely and smell like ram goat. Guyana has bigger and more important issues to address, rather than to listen to some unemployed, uncleaned thieves who want the government to support their illegal drug habbit. Mark is also running for mayor of Georgetown after he lost his presidential bid under the independent party. If he won the mayorship, will he make the garden city into drug addict city for these bush creatures?

We will never forget that Mark Benschop and GR were in the center of Agricola and Linden roits, pouring fuel to the fire. They also trespass in PPP supporters yard on many occasions, and they are responsible for injurting a PPP worker head. Mark use to defend criminals under the PPP administration, now he forget about criminals and defending dope heads.

America is wrong Canada is wrong and all the develop countries is wrong to legalize marijuana only guyana is right i wonder how much tax money the government is losing and not saying fulling the prison

Legalizing is very controversial and not all states are on board.  Most states only approve for strict medical use, something which seems ok!

weed is a gateway drug!

I agree with you on this!!

BULLSHIT!  been smoking for about 30 years and don't use anything else,no cigarettes, alcohol, other drugs,I hardly touch any form of medication...again I say BULLSHIT!

I know many others like myself...not as handsome, hung etc but they also stay away from other forms of drugs.

When 'erb is finally legalized worldwide, you people gonna shit yourselves when you realize how many use the stuff and you never had an inkling. Heck, while visiting your doctor you might even notice him carrying a vaporizer in his shirt pocket or sitting at a corner of his desk for when he goes on break.

The US started this nonsense of getting marijuana and cocaine banned internationally. They forced their opinion on the rest of the world. Now they legalizing the stuff after realizing the health and financial benefits. Guyana needs cash and can use the income generated from the legal export of marijuana.

As for it being a gateway drug: nonsense. I have drank liquor and smoked weed, but I never had the desire to drink beer of snort coke. There is also no medical evidence to suggest that marijuana smokers prefer harder drugs. Many use harder drugs because it does not smell up the neighbourhood when they use it. So they do not endanger their freedom.

The fact that you sold weed and got away don't make it right, not everything is about making money. And you cannot "have drank", you had to "have drunk", you old drunk!  Were you high on weed during English class?

Anyway, weed is a hallucinogen and alters the state of consciousness, so not sure it's right to make it's use fully legal.  Maybe some type might be better then others.

What plainly disrespectful nonsense as usual! Rastas have as much ritualistic rules about cleanliness as any Muslims  and more so than hindus and here you are displaying your ignorance by calling them unclean. You a drunk ( they do not drink) admitted whore-monger, pork cuter eating bigot need to change your own unclean ways before you complain of others.

Why do you think they are unemployed and are thieves? Tax preparers would poll more dubious than rastas who have to be healthy in mind and body.

Then there is the matter of the protest; it is not as to the drug use but the  employing of archaic laws with respect to a petty crime  that incurs heavy penalties. It is is an a suggestion that changes to these sentencing policies be made promptly so more lives of are not destroyed for minor infractions. It is agreed beyond doubt that Marijuana is a benign drug

As Druggie mentioned, alcohol is a gateway drug, who agrees? Drinkers, speak up let's hear why it isn't while pot is?

For people prone to become alcoholics!  That's a whole different topic!

No it is not.

Is alcohol a gateway drug?

Does the use of alcohol give power to some men, who feel so powerful their go home and beat their wives?

I say NO to legalize dope and jail all them dope users. Roll up some dry shit and give them to smoke.

You would be poisonous to them, plus the fact you wouldn't fit in between rolling papers.

I hate drug addicts and dope heads period. They shouldn't be around kids.

That's a strong comment.  Very few support people using drugs, including weed however, more kids and families are victims/casualty of legalized alcohol than illegal drugs!

After all those decades of the PPP smuggling cocaine to the US and beyond, suddenly they object to marijuana, which is far less harmful than even cigarettes. The the mean time those PPP East Indians are addicted to alcohol. So once again the PPP is only defending drugs traded and used by East Indians, whilst objecting to the drugs used by black folks.
