A former policeman turned businessman was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital in a critical
condition last evening after he was shot about five times about his body.
According to reports, the man Ravi Outar, a father of four, of 143 Second Street, Swamp Section Rose Hall Town, was in his yard around 20:35 hrs when he was allegedly attacked by a lone gun man.
According to his wife, Meshell Outar, her husband who operates a pool hall and bar was sitting outside his business premises. She said that she ventured inside the shop and not long after she heard what sounded like gunshots.
She subsequently ventured outside and saw her husband covered in blood. He was picked up and rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was admitted for emergency surgery. His condition up to press time was not known.
The woman said that she was in time to see a lone gunman making his way out of the street and entered a waiting car which sped away.
