Berbice Bridge Co. is another major sponsor for Guyana Cup horserace Meet

The Berbice River Bridge Company has come on board as another one of the major sponsors of the Guyana Cup Horserace Meeting fixed for Sunday at the Rising Sun Turf Club on the West Coast of Berbice.
Even as preparations are going at full speed for the event in a few days time, the sponsors also are joining to ensure it continues as a success story. The Berbice Company has stepped up to the plate, joining Banks DIH and Air Services among others as key sponsors of the race meet on Sunday.
The 11th edition of the Jumbo Jet Business Enterprise and Stables organised Mega event is expected to be extremely exciting with most of the country’s top racehorses in action on Sunday and fans are expected as is customary to throng the venue for the explosive entertainment that is usually seen at the event.
Roy Jafferally of the organising Committee recently collected the sponsorship cheque from a Representative of the Berbice Bridge to signal their major involvement in the event. Jaferally on behalf of the Jumbo Jet Business Enterprise and Stables thanked the Berbice Bridge Company for their support for the event, expressing the desire that this benevolence continues.
Several other sponsors are on board, among them are Air Services Limited, Banks DIH, Big G Lumber yard, Caricom Auto Sales, Impressive Signs and Graphics, Soreidom Guyana Inc, Rambrich Service Station, Poonai’s Pharmacy of Rose Hall Town, Rohan Auto Spares, BM Soat Auto Spares, Muneahwar Hardware Store, Hand-in-Hand Insurance Company, Super Bet, ISG Industrial Supplies of Guyana Inc, D. Telokie & Sons Trucking Service, BM Soat Auto Sales and Anand and Sons Electrical.
The B Class event as the main race and is open to all imported and Guyana Bred B class horses and covers a distance of 2000m for a whopping $2M for the winner with second collecting $1M, third $500,000, fourth $250,000 and fifth $125,000.
There is the E & lower 1500m race for all imported and Guyana Bred 3 years and up and those rated E class and lower for a sumptuous $1.2M winner’s purse.
The G & Lower Guyana and West Indies Bred racehorses cover 1500m with the winner carting off $700,000, the H3 & lower race for Guyana and West Indies bred horses has a $400,000 pay day over a distance of 1100m, the 2 years old Guyana Bred horses will run over a similar 1100m distance with $350,000 the purse on offer for the winner, while 3 year old Guyana bred and I1 & Lower class racehorses will look to cash in on the $300,000 first prize over 1100m. The J2 & K & Lower class will be battling for a $250,000 purse, while the L& Lower non-winners will collide for a $200,000 winners take, both events also over 1100m.
