The Guyana Police Force and the Harpy Eagles Martial Arts Academy collaborated in a joint effort to impress at the Best of the Best Martial Arts Championships at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue last Sunday. Eleven Participants between the two institutions competed for honors with Police winning 16 Gold and a Silver Medal in addition to the first place Trophy, while Harpy Eagles captured seven Gold, four Silvers and one Bronze Medals. They also won the first place Trophy in Grappling. For the law enforcers, female Sheriese Bobb won Gold in Sparring and Self-defence, Kevin De la Cruz won Gold in Sparring, Trevlon Clark Gold in Sparring and Silver in Grappling and Ijah Cave won Gold in Sparring and Grappling. Mark Barrion won Gold in Weapons and Silver in Kata, Akil St Hill took Gold in Sparring and Kata and Silver in Weapons, Ephraim Mingo won Silver in Kata, Vinita McDonald won Gold in Sparring, Rayson Gill won Gold in Kata, Jamal Benjamin won Gold in Weapons and Silver in Open Form and Shemar Benjamin won Bronze in Kata for Harpy Eagles.
