EXCLUSIVE: Bigot tried ripping off two Muslim women’s hijabs as they strolled with their babies in Brooklyn attack
A bigoted Brooklyn woman is accused of hurling Islamophobic insults at two Muslim women pushing their babies in strollers, punching them in the face and trying to pull their hijabs off.
“Get the f--- out of here,” Emirjeta Xhelili, 32, allegedly yelled at her victims when she spotted them near her home in Bensonhurst about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, according to prosecutors. “Get the f--- out of America, b-----s.”
As she punched the women in the face and kicked them in their legs, she tried to rip their hijabs off their heads at 20th and Cropsey Aves., police sources said.
“This is America — you shouldn’t be different from us,” she yelled, according to prosecutors.

“One of the victims was with their 15-month-old baby at the time and the defendant attempted to knock over the stroller,” Assistant District Attorney Kelli Muse said during Xhelili’s arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court Friday. “She didn’t even care for the well-being of a baby — that’s how serious this hate crime is.”
