Bishop Edghill charged for dumping derelict vehicle
Parliamentarian Juan Edghill was Monday charged by city Magistrate Alex Moore for dumping a derelict vehicle on a parapet.
Bishop Edghill, a former junior Finance Minister, denied that last Sunday at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he blocked the southern parapet of Sugar Cane Street by parking motor vehicle PFF 527, in breach of city government by-laws.
The court heard that the vehicle was in neglected state with deflated tyres and overgrown grass surrounding it after it had been parked there for some time.
A city officer had warned Edghill and was given two weeks to remove the vehicle but he failed to comply.
Magistrate Moore placed the parliamentarian on self-bail and ordered him to return to court on April 25 for statements.
