The President and executives of the Blairmont Cricket Club expressed congratulations to club members Marvan Prashad and Akash Harrilall on their recent success in leading Berbice to capture the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Dave West Indian Imports inter county U-15 50-over tournament 2017. Marvan Prashad, the clubβs U-15 captain, led the Berbice team with distinction. He was named man of the tournament, player of the final and also received another man of the match award in the preliminary round. He scored 106 runs from three innings at an average of 53. Prashad, right arm off spin also earned him four wickets during the tournament. Left arm spinner Akash Harrilall, took the most wickets during the tournament accounting for 10 scalps. He also claimed a man of the match award in the preliminary rounds. The BCC wishes the two youngsters a bright future in their cricketing endeavors. The BCC has branded 2017 βThe year of youthsβ as such the club continues to invest in its memberβs welfare in order to be better cricketers and individuals in the community. As such the clubs encourages its U-17 members to continue training and be disciplined as they continue to participate in the upcoming U-17 Inter County tournament. (Samuel Whyte)
