In March,some passengers coughed on some drivers and the drivers died.so they're not taking any chances now.also,everyone must wear a mask before boarding the bus

In the past when I rode on the bus I made sure I always wore gloves, summertime I would use my cycling gloves and made sure the fingers didnt come in contact with the rails we would hold onto.

Is what silliness you talkin eh? No one has died from Covid all of a sudden so why would a driver pass out? I do agree the drivers should be in their own space for their safety regardless if from a virus or an attack by a crazy passenger.
