The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has not received more than Rs 10 crore from projects carried out in public-private partnership (PPP) models, corporators have claimed. Political leaders cutting across party lines criticised the BMC’s “faulty” model at the general body meeting of the corporation Tuesday.
According to the leaders, the BMC is to receive more than Rs 10 crore from D Y Patil college and around Rs 30 lakh from the Imamwada maternity hospital. BJP corporator Ashwin Vyas said, “As there is no transparency in the PPP models across institutions, BMC has been facing heavy losses. The corporation needs to get the money it deserves from these institutions and also charge a heavy fine on them for the delay.
