Lockdown in Boston was a complete waste of time. They couldn't find a severely wounded kid running and leaving a trail of blood.

It took a boat owner to find the bloody guy, while yet the swat teams paraded for the cameras.

How hard is it for 10,000 law enforcement officers to follow a trail of blood into a covered boat? Apparently very difficult it seems.

TI, The BP and FBI may have made a few errors on this one BUT there are few Agencies around the World that is more disciplined and capable than the FBI.

The PPP and Rohee.

Maybe, they have been fighting domestic terrorism for years and at times the USA tries to interfere.

Those two were solved.  There will always be the political detractors who contend there is more, just like those who still believe the CIA/Mosad were linked to 9/11 and, as such, the case is still "open".

what absolute nonsense. They had to search for un known bombers among thousands them. Limited that to 2 within three days then named them and perused them into a place where they can set up a firm perimeter and then close in on their own terms.

They knew where he was and were evacuating the people house by house. That the house owner pointed out his exact position was not happenstance. He knew to look out for him because he was identified as being in the general location.

This fellow just killed people with explosives. He had them on his person. They found and detonated some left elsewhere. It was prudent that they take their time so no one else is hurt. If you were listening to the scanners you would not open your mouth and yammer nonsense.

They knew exactly where he can possibly be located and instead of moving in they were moving people out, putting snipers in place and had the utmost intent on not killing him. Everyone was warned not to be trigger happy. They did a bloody superb job.

They were broadcasting their step by step move to the public (how smart) , so the kid knew exactly where they  were...he went one block away from where they were looking and hid in the boat..it was only after the residents were allowed back out that the boat owner saw him...one little kid had 10,000 law enforcement in chaos

How exactly were they broadcasting their step by step move to the public?

In any society, the people are the eyes and ears of the law.  The law cannot be everywhere every time but their response to tips is what counts.  Unfortunately, this lends itself to subjective and embedded prejudices in the society.  The police have to act with that in mind.  Remember, the first tip in Boston was a dark/black foreign sounding suspect.  This was the same with Timothy McVeigh (Arab-looking).  Both turned out to be anything but.

The police have always depended on the public for help in solving cases. They always interviewed eyewitnesses and informers to gather intelligence. The difference today is that we live in a world where smartphones and CCTV cameras are everywhere and recording events in real time (at events like the Boston Marathon). They also get tips from the amateur snoops on the internet who sometimes provide useful info for the police. They still have to sift through the evidence provided from various sources and piece together the solution to a crime. You might call it luck but it's the new age we live in where information is more readily accessible and it is no different in the law enforcement arena. You cannot fault them for that. They are just utilizing the tools available to them.

In all fairness, there were at least seven plots thwarted, never happened, but to coordinated law enforcement since 2009.  This one got through the drag-net and one needs to study how/why and mitigate.  We must remember, balancing civil liberties with crime prevention is tricky.  This is a society of some 300+ mil and few plots and crime will get through regardless how tight the law tries to be.  The Govt cannot place everyone on a continuous watch-list.

The bombers identified themselves when they hijacked a vehicle and told the guy in the petrol station that they were the ones who bombed the marathon.  They were actually showing off what they did wherever they went. Not difficult to catch guys like that. But still the police had to bring the entire city into a curfew when they were already informed where the wounded boy was.

Join the dots. The FBI interviewed him, according to his  mum they visited and harassed him, probably forcing him into spying for them. He travels to Dagestan to spy, but instead he decides to give the FBI a lesson. He ends up bombing his masters.
