BREAKING: Armed bandits kill Parika businessman
A popular fuel dealer from Parika, East Bank Essequibo was, earlier tonight, shot and killed by armed bandits as the spiraling crime wave continues unabated in Guyana, with citizens remaining like ‘sitting ducks’ with no security or protection against a rampaging criminal siege of the country.
Businessman Seeram Singh, 52 years old, of Parika Outfall, was attacked by armed bandits around 21:00 hrs tonight. He was reportedly shot at least three times, with one of the bullet wounds being to the head, suspected to be at point-blank range.
INews, speaking with relatives and neighbours of the slain businessman at the Leonora Hospital, West Coast Demerara where he was rushed, all lamented the slow response by the Police to the brutal robbery attack.
Singh, whose wife had previously died, leaves to mourn four daughters and a son. He was known to be a very quiet and religious individual, and very helpful to others. He transports fuel to the hinterland region of Guyana.
His death is the latest in a long list of brutal slayings of innocent citizens from all walks of life and across the country, in recent times, at the hands of marauding gunmen.
INews will post a few photos in a few minutes.
