Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh says he is very pleased with the tone of discussions with the parliamentary opposition on Budget 2013.

He says Government has approached the budget consultations with the parliamentary opposition in earnest and has so far found it to be very favourable.

However, the administration is concerned with what it describes as the flexing of political muscle and some grandstanding on the part of the opposition.

According to finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh, the behavior from one opposition sect is very unfortunate.

Meanwhile, Dr. Singh says Guyanese can expect to see the continuation of many of the policies and some new features as well in this years’ budget.

He says government is constantly examining and refining its policies and so while there is continuity there is also room for new plans and goals.
