Bushy Park Circuit hosting a slew of events this weekend

Bushy Park Racing Circuit, Barbados is the leading circuit-racing facility in the Caribbean.
This world-class multi-purpose facility features many types of events. Built to FIA Grade 3 requirements, the 2.01-kilometre International Circuit also has a Rally-cross Track, CIK Grade A Kart Circuit and a one-eighth-of-a-mile Drag Strip.

Today, hosted by Bushy Park Motor Sports Inc (BPMSI), There will be a total of 23 races on the programme with the featured races being:
3 Suzuki Challenge Series Radical SR3 Cup races. Round 4. The Caribbean’s premier one-make racing category in which all competitors race in identical vehicles from the same manufacturer utilizing the same model. The same chassis, tires and engine are used by all drivers. Minimum Weight-570 kg, Engine Size-1500cc, Engine Power-252 hp, Gearbox-6 Speed Sequential, Max RPM-11,000, Max Speed-252kph, Cornering G’s-2.5G
3 races featuring the Suzuki Swift Cup. Engine Size-1600cc, Engine Power-150 BHP, and Gearbox-6 Speed Manual, Limited Slip Differential, Adjustable Suspension, and Adjustable Dual brake cylinders.
3 races from each Group (2, 3, and 4) featuring the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championships:
Group 4 – These are purpose built race cars with special chassis, allowance of unlimited modifications, not to exceed 4500cc, riding on full racing slicks. Of note, there will be 2 separate classes: 2wd & 4wd classes with Two separate Champions in each class.
Group 3 – The regulations allow for a heavily modified engine and gearboxes with allowance to run with spoilers & wings with up to a maximum 3500cc but, must run on ‘DOT’ tires.
Group 2 – The regulations allow for a heavily modified engine and gearboxes with allowance to run with spoilers & wings with up to a maximum 2000cc on ‘DOT’ tires.
3 ‘Super-Stock’ bike races, these are 600cc machines. This is the inaugural year that bikers are running for a separate Country Championship meaning, points accumulated are separate than the cars. Guyana leads with 326 points, 138 for Jamaica, 97 for Trinidad, 26 for Barbados.
BPMSI’s own 2016 Club Championship, Hilti Handicap races on 2 and 4 wheels complete the days’ festivities.
Whilst not all competitors can compete in the all of the 12 races of the CMRC Championships, A dropped score(s) system is in place which means each competitor(s) can still achieve a successful result that will count towards the overall Championship. Competitors will count their best 9 results from the potential total of 12 race(s). This allows competitors to miss 3 races and/or drop their 3 worst showing. A number of the regions leading drivers and riders will be in action today and among them are Kristian Jeffrey, Calvin Ming, Mark Vieira, Nazim Gafoor all of Guyana, Franklyn Boodram, Brook Miller, Mark Maloney and Roger Mayers for the drivers. The riders will see Stephen Vieira and Matthew Vieira among others in keen competition. The action promises to be fast and furious and fans at the venue will be in for the usual treat.
