Not a good thing. These staff have allegiance elsewhere and it is like having the fox in the hen house. They will and can ruin things
David Granger will need to continue with a vision for inclusiveness, regardless of individual's political approach.
It will be seen how long these individuals will indeed remain in their positions.

Then clown, what would you have said if the PPP had fired the GDF top brass...oh I forgot the carry guns.
This is encouraging. But there will be some staff changes. I just got a message from someone who never voted PPP in his life. He is scared. I told him no need to worry. If anything happens don't stay quiet. Of course, I won't mind making some people uncomfortable.

the GDF top brass is the GDF top brass and not immune to a firing if so needs be.

these people are conditioned to working a specific way. There is need for a culture of independence and creative input not sycophants and followers. There is a country to be run differently than before and not as these people seen it run previously and were contented.

But not done, for pragmatic reasons. Now shut up and get high.

you are a stupid fellow. And why should I get high? Is that the way you spend our evening? Sorry, leave me out of your misery.

The guy I mentioned has a very interesting life story. He could not finish high school because of poverty. He has zero CXC or O'Level. He became a fisherman for a few years. He would take his boat out into the Demerara river to catch cat fish early in the morning...like 4AM every morning. Then traverse the villages to sell his catch. He helped finance the education of his younger sibling. He had one advantage...he like reading. With some strange luck he got a job as a store clerk with Toolsie. He moved into bookkeeping. He self-studied and completed several LCC exams on his own and paid for his fees. He never had a handout. He then studied several years, most nights late into the morning hrs like 3AM for the ACCA...years he dis this. Never took a class. Paid all his fees. He studied on his own while working. He completed the ACCA and moved to several senior positions in private sector. Many will tell you the ACCA is not a mickey mouse exam. Eventually he applied and got a job at a senior finance post at a semi-autonomous govt agency. It is not a political appointment. He hates PPP because he cannot take the corruption of the PPP activists in his village. If they remove him because of his race...I take it personally because in many ways I see myself in his life story. I get very emotional over these types of issues...because I abhor political wh0res...I never got anything because of a connection to a party.

Yea yea, TK, I have few other who did it that way under PNC, cuz unlike the USA, you don't need a college degree. Now, where does "wh0reishness" come into the equation.

Pity the PPP didn't even try to be inclusive.

Everyone should be given an opportunity to redeem themselves.
It will be only their burden if the screw up.

Well...dunno about that. This is not 1980 Burnham time. This is 2015, the day of machine learning and intelligent machines replacing even the work of lawyers. You will need college degrees.

Even now, it is very sad for the country, because the PPP have the other half of the support. In 2011, while in government, they did not take the opportunity to be inclusive.
They need to shed that vindictive and winner takes all attitude.
One major race in Guyana cannot be ignored, if the country is to progress equally for all.

I do not know any of these people or their personal story. I know my country has been screwed up by people facilitating a corrupt regime to pillage and plunder our society and its assets. If we are to get a new grounding we are to start anew. Hopefully, the President has a good chief of staff who could plumb the minds of those like yourselves who knows the character of these individuals and who can sift them from the muck of the PPP.

Why is it you do not need College degrees? Of course there are some vocational jobs that do not need it but college is not for the learning alone but to inculcate the habit of work, being tested and measured for that work and delivery of that work on time. It is also to develop interpersonal skills, working as a team and social graces. Until such time that we develop ways to actually implant skills in the brain directly we will need colleges. Even then we will possibly need them as finishing schools.

If you look at it only at such a broad macro level, you risk washing away the micro contributions. I don't feel the interest of the country can be best served without the value these micro persons bring to the table. Let us see how it works because Guyana is a country of political warlords controlling about three factions. You have President Granger who is not a warlord but needs the approval of his warlord. The AFC has two warlords, each more laser focused on matters of the wallet than the big picture.

I agree we should give them the benefit of the deoubt but watch them like a hawk.
By the way, the entire spy agency including Colonel Omar Khan has to be sent packing.
The Colonel can go back to the ARMY.

I was referring specifically to the ACCA vs the CPA in the USA.
