If memory serves me correct if was a junior Indian officer on the ground who led Guyanese ranks in repelling the Surinamese.

Couple Indians were involved but I don't think any Indian Officer. I think (and I could be wrong) that Joe Singh was involved in stymieing the Rupununi uprising.
