Home coming for Granger and Moses.! This is going to be big. Live broadcast on voteguyana. Saddle up boys, Berbice will speak.
Jagdeo and Ramotar not Berbicians.
Ramjattan and Moses are
MOSES NAGAMOOTOO, MARCH 28 --- Whim Returning: The national coalition rally at Whim tomorrow brings back memories of my political journey over these past 54 years. I entered public life with a passion and yearned for both the independence of our country from colonialism and for a better life for my people. We achieved the former and became proud GUYANESE though the struggle continued after 1966.
1992 gave us hope for a better life, but after Cheddi died, especially under the 15-year cycle of mismanagement under the Jagdeo/Ramotar regimes, our country plunged into a sea of corruption due to the absence of true or honest leadership. Hope for unity almost perished.
Over these years, I took the image of Whim everywhere, and made people understand that this tiny fishing village has produced honest leaders, from the grassroots upwards. The photo that I shared brought back memories of some of those "barefooted" early leaders who wanted to make a difference, and I am delighted that others quickly recognized them, and that I had walked this journey for change with them.
Today, we face a new challenge as we try to re-capture the spirit of 1992 for change. Today we demand change but with unity, which the broad APNU+AFC alliance represents.
Tomorrow (Sunday) I return, for the first time since my childhood, to Whim together with David Granger with whom I shared village life when his dad was stationed at the Whim police station, and together attended the Auchlyne Scots school.
Together, we present the face of unity, of ethnic harmony, and the potential for clean and honest leadership that Whim can offer Guyana.
Come out and embrace this new beginning. Tell your relatives that it is all right to support the coalition, to vote for the Key with the Hand on it. That it is all right to have a Government of National Unity; that they should welcome David Granger & Moses Nagamootoo as the Home Team.

Moses is going back to roots. Two years ago, there was not enough space to hold all the vehicles that were there for the AFC meeting.
However, I expect a strong, paid contingency of PPP protesters whose job would be to embarrass Bro. Mose.
Whim know PPP does not care; the village is neglected.
The challenge is to get them all to understand, we need a Coalition to move the PPP out so we may move forward from the PPP gridlock.
However, I expect a strong, paid contingency of PPP protesters whose job would be to embarrass Bro. Mose.
Let us see what the excuses will be when the police don't arrest them as they did Vanessa Kissoon (still think that black people run Guyana?).
It's a fact not an opinion that black people control and dominate all the state agencies in Guyana. If you are going to Guyana, it starts at the airport at Caribbean Airlines.
The PPP never enacted diversity policies.
The good thing is that Guyanese have a good sense of working class solidarity. I was quite surprised at the number of black people who were at the AFC meeting at Whim 2 years ago when I was there.
Every Race Punishing.
I liked how the sugar workers went on strike to support their black brother who was fired after he slapped the Indian alcoholic Skeldon Estate Manager (the one who urinates in the public and cusses at the lowly police). They transferred the Police who did charge him for "riotous behavior." The Police exercised his power.

Check and see who the custom agents are. Not coolies.
It's well known that our Afro people dominate govt.
During PNC time, you had to bribe black people to get anything done.
During the PPP's 23 years, you still have to bribe black people to get anything done. And it's worst because under Burnham you can get passports in New Amsterdam. Now under our working class, Jaganite PPP, we have to wake up early in the dark and go to Georgetown, and be scared like hell watching out for bandits. So what has changed under the PPP? Please tell me.
So how has the PPP helped Indians and is the party of Indians? The PPP is the biggest sell out of Indians. Help people understand that!
It's a fact not an opinion that black people control and dominate all the state agencies in Guyana. .
Why don't you look to see who heads the airport, and who heads the GRA. INDIANS.
Blacks have the $200/month jobs. Is that "control". Did the police shoot down black people in G/town at the behest of the PPP because black people "control" Guyana.
Well you might as well so black people "control" NYC too as they are also over represented in those same low paid civil service jobs.
So how has the PPP helped Indians and is the party of Indians? The PPP is the biggest sell out of Indians. Help people understand that!
The Indian elites are doing very well in Guyana. You are either deeply dishonest or blind if you see this.
Now is there an African elite who is visibly as prosperous, or who is visibly heading the public and sector? Are there loads of them winning contracts and growing fat off of government largess?
No you "envy" the little black customs officer who meets you when you enter Guyana, even though the majority of management positions at the airport are staffed by INDIANS!
If blacks "control" Guyana then ought not there be a very visible and prosperous elite, because it is ELITES who control things. Not half starved people who only occupy those positions because they don't know what else to do.
Since the Burnham era people want to leave the civil service to work for the state owned corporations. Now privatized. So how do blacks "control" Guyana is they do NOT control the private sector.
Even the police commissioner is now an Indian. GRA headed by an Indian. G/town Hospital headed by an Indian. Bank of GY. Geology & Mines, and the list continues.
Now please list the blacks who HEAD public sector entities!

would it be fair to conclude that you would be in favor of an 'equitable' swap, i.e., the decision making, senior and gate-keeping positions in Gov't and state agencies (including GuySuco) now held mostly by Indo-Guyanese given to Afro-Guyanese, and the numerous clerks and go-fer positions given to Indo-Guyanese
i will be bold and step out on a limb stating that Afro-Guyanese would definitely go for this
btw, Caribbean Airlines is a T&T entity, not a PPP state agency, arite?
Carib:
Many Indians would like to get some of those $200 jobs but can't break in.
Once you get in, you bring in cousin, uncle, auntie, etc.
There are no diversity policies under the PPP. PPP sold out its supporters. They too busy thieving.
btw, Caribbean Airlines is a T&T entity, not a PPP state agency, arite?
The staff who Caribbean Airlines publicizes tend to be either mixed or Indian, except in their Jamaican operations. So to suggest that they are some Afrocentric group which denies Indians an opportunity is a deep joke.

You have not answered the question. WHO MAKES DECISIONS IN GUYANA!
So the little underpaid civil service jobs that black people have you wish to deprive them of? So what do you expect black people to do? The private sector only values them as security guards or similar menial tasks.
Listen Jay the dominance of Guyana by an Indian elite is so evident in Guyana that even foreigners make note of it.
If you wish national unity acknowledge that Guyana is run by an Indian ELITE who punishes the rest of the population. You will be laughed at if you tell APNU people that "black people control Guyana".

isn't it enuf that it's a T&T entity . . . irrelevant to this discussion

Any entity which employs people in Guyana is relevant to the discussion.
Rich Indians who doan give a rat's arse about anyone else and sleazy blacks run Guyana. (into the ground)
I did not say all Indians are no good nor did I say all blacks are sleazy, so get that straight.

no, it's NOT, u klown!
what is it about "state agencies in Guyana" that is so difficult for you to understand
geeeeeezz
During the PPP's 23 years, you still have to bribe black people to get anything done.
You do know that without demanding bribes civil servants in Guyana would either be hungry or homeless because their little wages are done by the middle of the month.

I don't think anyone here wants civil servants or anyone for that matter to be hungry and/or homeless.
Which is why I always happily pay for bribes to low ranking civil servants.
I think the gentleman's point is that institutional state power rests with Afro-Guyanese notwithstanding the fact that the subject agency may be headed by an Indian.
When the PPP leaves office, all these Indians will be dismissed en masse. And there is nothing Indians can do about that. These State institutions will revert to being centers of Afro-Guyanese power.
I agree that the Indians exercise dominance and effective control over these state agencies. That is fully acknowledged.
However, for the average Indian who will never interact with the Indian agency head he will instead interact with the ordinary or mid ranking Afro-Guyanese functionary.
Watch what happens when the Coalition wins. You will see many centers of State power magically change overnight as though Indians never ran them.

cognitive dissonance of the cultists on display
and, of course, massaging the dispositive, fake, "perceived" power wielded by the "functionaries" is very important in selling the very BIG LIE to low-information Indo-Guyanese by race smartmen on sabbatical from ROAR
So Carib, you are saying/agreeing that:
1. Afros are in the majority in state enterprises, but they are the $250 a month workers?
2. Afros are in the majority in state enterprises, but they are the $250 a month workers, and have no power?
Which is it?
The black Guyanese are given the jobs that carry a high risk of unfavourable interaction with the public. The less dangerous jobs are mainly assigned to the Indo population.
This is getting hilarious now!
Waiting on Carib to answer.

The gentleman's point is that he cannot prove that there is a strong African elite in Guyana who run the nation. Junior civil servants do as they are told. Mid level civil servants are terrified that their bosses will fore them if they don't follow orders.
The people who lead Guyana are Indians. The dominant group are the Indian elites. So to say that blacks run Guyana is a joke.
Tell me something. Do you think that black people run the MTA because most of the bus drivers and subway motormen and conductors are black? Because this is what you are claiming that Guyana is.
The mid and low level MTA black workers do what their WHITE BOSSES demand that they do.....or else. Ditto with their black equivalent in Guyana and their fear of their Indian bosses.
You ought to hear how these mid level blacks must ask their Indian bosses if they are allowed to award a contract to a black person. They know that the PPP is looking for every excuse to get rid of them so that they can give the job to one of their Indian cronies.

Which is it?
YES.
Can you describe any organization where the power rests in the hands of the low and mid level workers?
So who makes the decisions about resource allocation?
Who makes the decisions about contract awards?
What do you think will happen to that black clerk if you complain to their Indian boss? Note that they no longer have an effective union to represent them.
I suggest that you answer redux.
Will Indians be happy if 90% of those making decisions about who is hired, who is promoted, who gets what contract, how are budgets allocated became black, and all they got were $200 jobs, where they could be dismissed at a whim and replaced by a black person?
Watch what happens when the Coalition wins. You will see many centers of State power magically change overnight as though Indians never ran them.
Hmmm. Granger has given Nagamootoo the authority to make appointments of heads of gov't entities and ministries, and will DIRECTLY control 40% of the cabinet positions.
And you think that he will exclude Indians? Nagamootoo is going to want to reward some of his cronies with positions. The only cronies I see around him are other PPP exiles.

The MTA analogy is inapposite.
We are talking about the organs of the State and the implications of having them be dominated by one ethnic group in a multiethnic nation.
No one group has an exclusive claim on the organs of the state. The State is not some company.
I'm not gonna argue with you anymore on this because I don't believe you're sincere which means we're wasting our time on this issue. You're either insincere or just stupid. I don't think you're stupid. So you must be insincere as you fully understand how power works in the Third World.

The notion that you and Jay are so intimidated by blacks that you really think that a bunch of clerks control Guyana is what has me laughing.
Seriously since when does a clerical worker and their supervisors run any society?
Tell you what. Societies are dominated by the business elites. They fund campaigns and they have the ability to bribe. Even if the coalition wins Indian elites will remain very comfortable. They will continue to run the show.
So spare me tears that $200 clerks run Guyana. Only a simple illiterate peasant is foolish enough to believe this.
APNU can only win with the AFC. Despite the screams of some we all know that the Original recipe AFC is dead, and that what survives is controlled by PPP exiles who are flocking to Nagamootoo. They can take their 12 seats and end APNU control whenever they wish if not happy. You do know that many would happily return to a chastened PPP.
So why do you think that APNU will be able to install an African exclusive governing structure? Do you think that Nagamootoo and the rest of them will want to exist within this environment?

No quams here. It's the people who allow this bribery to happen. They offer the bribes and the takers willingly accept. Don't blame the govt for all of it. Lots of policemen want to transfer to Springland police station. Why????

If this is a known fact, the govt...ahem. especially THE Goat should be the one taking the blame. Yes.
As is typical of the PPP they cannot and will not accept the fact that they as a government have failed at governance.
It is everyone else's fault why they cannot govern. We know this after 23 Years.

Dont you think that would be a prudent thing to do if most were implanted nepotistically rather than moved through the ranks? I expect them to fire all heads over time and replace them from within. I also expect them to completely ban contract workers who become dependent on the whims of a minister and who do not get any benefits even the accrued benefits of a pension plan.
