From the ACG Central Florida
Donald Ramotar first visit to NY as president.
This event was organized by the Consul General Brentnol Evans and his side kicks ACGNY at 4:00pm, program lasting no later than 7:00pm.
Frankie Sooknanan, producer and native of Paramaribo, Suriname book Moka for a schedule event at 7:00pm on Saturday 19th 2012. The day before the event, Friday the 18th, Frankie and his crew went to Moka with their equipment to setup for their program including lightings, sound systems, etc…..
Frankie was not aware that another event was schedule the same day of his event and was unaware that his equipments would be used for the event for Donald Ramotar. Not only the ACGNY and Guyana Consulate hijacked Frankie equipments, but the president encroached on Frankie program, delaying three hours later. The ACGNY and Donald Ramotar bullied Frankie and his group – took their equipments and stole valuable time away.
After Ramotar program, the ACGNY and consul general Evans did not extend a tank you or an apology to Frankie Sooknanan. The ACGNY and consul general Evans were ill prepared for the event. They made no arrangement to secure mikes/public addressing system, etc until they arrived at Moka. They were quite taken that such an arrangement was made, thinking it was done in kindness to the president and ACGNY. But, it is well known habit of PPP and ACGNY to bully and intimidate people. If the stage was not setup by Frankie how the president would be received?
Many of the guests in the Ramotar audience were there for Frankie Sooknanan program. Organizers of the President's visit used Frankie Sooknanan venue and all their lights and stage set up and technician... and pushed their show and even audience away.
The Guyanese community should know that Frankie Sooknanan and his group were not aware of Ramotar event at Moka and the work they put in at the hall was not for the ACGNY, Evans or Donald Ramotar. It was preparations for a culture show by Frankie Sooknanan and crew.
The president Ramotar, ACGNY Raj Singh and consul general Evans should do the right thing and issue a formal apology to Frankie and his group and the Guyanese community.
