Last night on ABC news a Caribbean Airlines plane was about to collide with another plane on the JFK tarmac. The 2 pilots were suspended. What's going on?

Apparently there was a misunderstanding based on instructions by the control tower. CAL heard instructions given to another airline, thought that it was meant for them, and then switched to the wrong frequency and so lost contact with the tower.
