Caribbean security specialist Professor Griffith pays courtesy call on President
Guyanese-born, Dr. Ivelaw Lloyd Griffith, ninth president of Fort Valley State University, author, political scientist and Caribbean security expert, today paid a courtesy call on President Donald Ramotar at the Office of the President.
Professor Griffith is on a two-day visit to Guyana and other Caribbean countries, including Trinidad and Tobago.
Today, as well he met with Members of Parliament to discuss issues related to security in the region.
Professor Griffith is a specialist on Caribbean security, drugs, and crime, and in this capacity has been advisor to Canadaβs Foreign Affairs and International Trade Ministry, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and other organisations.
Author of seven publications, Professor Griffith has also written more than 50 articles on his area of expertise. He also penned the highly applauded book, βDrugs and Security in the Caribbean: Sovereignty Under Siegeβ.
