CARICOM won the Ministry of the Presidency Tapeball competition on Sunday last at the National Culture Centre Tarmac, when they defeated Guyoil in the final, which was organized by James Lewis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Caricom batted first and scored 103, for 3 off of their 6 overs with Imrad Abdool top scoring with 33. Three (3) bowlers from Guyoil took 1 each wicket. When it was Guyoil’s turn to bat, they could only reply with 51 for 4 in their 6 overs. Imrad Abdool of Caricom won the prize for the highest score in the final, along with teammate Sherwin Burnette who got the prize for the bowler with the most wickets in the final, 2 wickets. In early games, Caricom defeated Ministry of Agriculture who batted first scoring 33 for 6, Burnette took 4 for 13. Caricom replied with 36 for 2 in 4 overs. Guyoil defeated Forestry Commission and Craig N.D.C. defeated Ministry of the Presidency P.S.M. Division. Then Guyoil defeated Craig N.D.C. In the Domino Competition, Ministry of Agriculture N.D.I.A. defeated G.P.H.C. and Ministry of Public Telecommunications in the finals to win the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Trophy and $40,000, the runner up team, G.P.H.C., got $20,000. The next Domino Competition is set for Saturday 29th July and this would be the pre-Emancipation work place KO and day competition. The venue would be named shortly.
