Kalo is Jimmy's son. He is Son Son's brother. They live by the side line street.

I saw him this past June when I went to Guyana. I think he rents DVDs now.

The boat builder's name is Zulu. He builds the boats by the koker near to Kalo.

No relationship to Minister Abdul Salim but of course I know him.Abdul Salim is an outstanding son of Corriverton having served as a Minister of the then Gov't for two full term. A hard working public servant and was well loved by all. He went on to become an attorney and now resides in Queens , NY.

May I add that quite a few Skeldonians served in Parliament icluding Mohamed Khan and Shakoor who were  with Dr Jagan and Forbes Burnham in thier first cabinet and now in the annals of history.

Lets not forget Pandit Ramlall who is still alive along with the late Nasrudden(PM) who were detained at Sibley hall.

iF Iam not mistaken Idris Deen was the longest serving member of Parliament from our area, he entered  in 1985 in the cabinet of the late President Hoyte and served until 1998.

Yuji,

Did you live in Skeldon or attended Line Path school?

I attended Line Path Secondary 1978 - 1983 . I was the president of the student council and arranged for mass protests after the PNC fired some WPA teachers. They were all reinstated after our successful protests and demonstrations.

I lived "down the coast" bust spent most of my time in Corriverton.

You guys mentioned the Gay Kalo, is he still alive ? I left Guyana in 1987 and still have a house and lots of property down the coast. I visit every now and then.

Corriverton was the main hub for business, education  and entertainment back then.

Salim was hated by most in Skeldon. People use to pelt him with ganda eggs and rotten oranges. He was a soup man. Dis man couldn't walk by alone in Skeldon. Correction: I think Pandit Ramlall died a couple years ago. Nasrudeen was a fearless PPP stalwart. God bless his soul. As far as Mohmmed Khan, Shakoor, and Idris Deen, I do not know these low life losers.

Thanks Yuji. Kalo is still alive and doing well. I see him all the time when I visit. He and I have some very interesting conversations. He is not shy about me asking him personal questions. He knows that I accept him for who he is. My wife met him for the first time last year and they struck up a good friendship.

I have relatives and friends from down the coast. My mamoo is from 66 village. They live near Glassnauth near to 66 bridge. I have a friend Fowdar from 68 village. I am sure you know him. He has some mental problems. I have friends here from almost all the villages starting from 55 village.

Oh my god, lots of memories. I attended high school with Gibran Deen. Sadly he passed away.

The muslim community of Corriverton was so vibrant and progressive back then. The Masjid by the market was so beautiful and well kept.

Guyana was so beautiful in those days. A lot of my friends were Afro Guyanese and we played cricket and soccer together. My mentor was an Afro Guyanese teacher by the name of Jackson, he was an excellent athlete. My English teacher was Seeraj, a staunch WPA supporter.

Do you guys remember Big Washington (Washie) , security guard at the Skeldon Estate ? He used to fall asleep while on Guard.

I worked at the Skeldon Estate Lab for a brief stint before moving to Canada.

Thanks for those memories.

I know the people mentioned. Originally from 69 Village.  Corentyne is so beautiful and the people are always warm and hospitable. Thanks for the memories.

Look at this idiot calling two PPP stalwarts low life losers. Aye you chammar call Freedom House and let them educate you about Mohamed Khan and Shakoor. They were the first set of PPP parlimentarians that served our country. They are now in the history books along with Dr Jagan, Forbes Burnham and host of others.

Furthermore let me educate you of the rich history of Corriverton also known as Skeldon, a name that you go by here on GNI. aS A MATTER OF FACT YOU SHOULD STOP USEING THAT NAME FOR YOU ARE A RACIST AND YOU ADMIT THAT YOU COMMITETED VIOLENCE agains Abdul Salim and other Indians who were suporters of the PNC.

One of the men you called a low life,Mohamed Khan, represented Guyana as a nationAL  volleyball player. He along with Vibert Fraser and Denny Yarally were the theee skeldonians who  played for Guyana in Volleyball. Although Mr Khan was a politician he was a fantanstic athlete. Both MR Khan and Shakkor are now deceased but a fart like you cannot come close to  the toe nails of these gentlemen.

As for Mr Idris Deen although he was with the PNC he served his constiuency  (which include a large percent of PPP supporters  with fairness and was able to do a lot of things especially for Crabwoodcreek. Today he is in his 80's and still going strong.

Finally you crab dog, regardless of which party our people chose to be in they all served in the highest office of our land ,Parliament, as decision makers, something you will never achieve no matter how many times you born back.
