These people are of no political importance nor do they have any power, just artifacts of a bygone era and now merely symbols of the past. 

The people are working. They bring in money for multiple charities and most importantly are networking to increase contacts between various business interests. It is not a tourist holiday tour that they are on. No one wants a sh-#ty job like that. For example, they constantly stand in rain, snow or mud on a Sunday and their every minute is scrutinize by the press. Except for probably Keffer no one else will probably want a job like that.

I saw both Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth both in their late 80's stand in the cold pouring rain at an exhibition opening on a Sunday morning and I think what a crap job these old people have. They have to work while most 80 year olds are still in their bed on an early pouring rain Sunday morning.

Guyana is a republic. Aside Cuba all of the other islands named have the Queen as the head of state.  Cuba is being visited for economic reasons.

Guyana received British royalty for the Jubilee.  Cuba is more of a rogue regime than is Guyana. When last have they had an honest election and who is the leader of the opposition in Cuba? How often are dissidents outside of jail?

Note that they have been 2 LGE under the Coalition and the PPP isnt screaming about any rigging!

Each one of those islands who kept the Queen as head of state is richer than Guyana.

The Queen has nothing to do with Jamaica.  Even the British colonies like Cayman Islands can do as they wish.

On a cold early Sunday morning Prashad hug up his mulatto wife in bed. Keffer, on the other hand, can't find a white Arab wife so he has no life. So his Sundays are spent like those two old people standing in the cold, wind and rain contemplating his misfortune of never meeting a white Arab woman who was willing to say to him "I do take you brown man as my lawfully wedding husband".
