Is there any passage in the Holy Qu'ran that says Muslims must take up arms/weapons and fight your enemies in time of war, even if it means that your enemies are fellow Muslims, another nation, or simply to defend your country and your peaceful existence if provoked?

Hajji Chief.

I am not trying to be Chief here but the Quran does talk about taking up arms against infidels and anything haram. Mohammed himself was a warrior and he helped spread Islam, which spread, contagiously, initially in parts of the Middle East and then Northern Africa through conquest and conversion.

For that matter, Christianity, also spread via conversion, conquest and violence.

Hinduism advises its supporters to take right action against enemies, even if they are your relatives (Arjuna's war is a good source for this).

The problem is that leaders interpret the holy writings to fit their own agenda.

The simple answer is Yes.

Four months fighting is prohibited, we are currently in one, the month Muhharram.

Cobra, can you name a war that was not a religious war?

Mits,

Why are you hurting up that boy head?

You have to excuse Mitwah. Amnesia is getting the better of him.

I used to know who you are. But now I totally forget.

It happens to most of us, Mits.

Hope I can remember that.
