Why would they need protection if they are quit their belligerent posture and start looking seriously at the welfare of their semi starving people. In one instance if they were to shift from their ignorant, threatening modes and ask for help they will instantly see the largess of the world filling all their needs.

Take a look with Google world at their cities. Not even a donkey cart is moving. That is what happens when you have stupid moronic leaders building a militaristic  personality cult to keep their people semi starved and opaque to the world.

China is not stupid. It knows it depends on western markets western technology and western connections for its own survival. With its growth dropping to some 7 percent and entire cities are being being abandoned in half built state they cannot but look to the west.

The Chinese are a bunch of crooks.  They allowed over 1 million North Koreans to die from hunger.  With friends like that you don't need enemies.

Actually, the Chinese are the only ones "shipping" food to NK.  The NK- China border is quite active. China is making NK dependent to keep it separated from SK.  China is masterfully playing its cards in the region.
