We may not be able to save them in the wild. The Chinese and Arabs have a hankering for their tusks. Also big game hunters seem to glory in killing them. The trump kids love going to Africa to kill animals.

But the worse is the Chinese. Even the poor donkey is being murdered off for their skin. When a donkey skin can bring in a years wage from a sale to the Chinese there will not be any left in Africa. Black bear gall bladders also puts a bounty on those animals. Chinese hanker for bear bladders, tiger bones, shark fins, etc so all of these animals are doomed.

We will only be able to preserve some of these animals as breeding groups in captivity.
