I'm gonna level with you. On election night, the entire PPP NY posse (the bright bais not the kool aid drinkers-all 3 of us) parsed the results coming in from Region 4 and the Corentyne and guessed that the Coalition won at 9pm based on the clear trends of a massive Black turnout in Region 4 and surprising PPP losses in select Queenstown and Corentyne divisions.

 

However, we kept getting constant assurances from Ministers, oligarchs, and other PPP morons that the PPP had won by 1 seat. So we all decided to not believe our own instincts and trust these guys because we assumed they were there in Guyana with all the SOPs and we were merely extrapolating a few key divisions. I actually felt embarrassed for bringing down the "victory party."

 

It turns out the PPP leadership lies....to everyone and to themselves. Even those whose advice and counsel they had sought out.

 

It seems they were lying to themselves and all of us. It was sheer delusion.

 

I merely posted the "news" on GNI the Ministers and other key PPPites were feeding us from Georgetown in spite of what we read from the early returns. I wanted to share with my fellow posters some election news from the PPP vine straight from the source as we were all eagerly awaiting results. That was a mistake. Them people are mad.

 

I actually called the election for the Coalition at 9pm at the NY rum shap HQ and got rubbished for it. I did not see how they can lose substantial Indian divisions and hold Indian government. The strategy of the PPP hinged on two assumptions: no excessively remarkable Region 4 turnout and a return of substantial Indians especially in Berbice to the PPP. Both were wrong.

 

The PPP observer operation in GT even collapsed. Gail Teixeira performed to her usual incompetent standards in GT. There were several hours at many poll sites without any PPP observer whatsoever.

I have no clue about that but I know someone I could ask in a few days.

Here today gone tomorrow. They must be still in shock at the fact that they are no longer in power. There's a serious lesson to be learnt here.
