PPP complaining of nepotism...seriously. No matter what kind of PPP fanatic, PPP slop-can carrier, or BJ batty washer you are, that had to make you laugh.

It's not about the truth. We know the truth. It's a conspiracy to persecute PPP leaders and others opposed to the PNC.

Who are the "We" ???

Conspiracy !!

Weak leadership and using drug lords to quell the mayhem by criminals, should be exposed.

What's taking your friends in the government so long to bring forth the evidence to support such charges?

Do you remember Corbin made similar charges about 500 Black men killed the government and those charges were exposed by Amnesty International as bogus???

Django, you are typical party hack who supports everything your party does without questioning. It's a shame that in this age of social media and our people's exposure to life and living in great democracies like America and Canada we still have people like you who refused to think for yourself and stand up against what is wrong.  What you are demonstrating on this forum is what others have done in the not too distant past  - back the PNC to death on every issue just to fit with them. I don't care which political party you support but please show some fairness.

Time for some honesty...this is how i see things in Guyana:

BE HONEST, THE PPP HAS A LOT TO BE BLAMED FOR

The problem is that Jagan did not want to go after PNC people after 28 years of dictatorship because Jagan felt this would further acerbate the race problem. In his mind, he felt, naively, that he could singlehandedly bring all the races together under the PPP. He was a failure in that sense.  I agree, Jagdeo and Ramotar should have done what the PNC is doing now....go after the criminal elements, not letting Roger Khan run around the country, fire Ramsammy for his alleged involvement with spy equipment, etc...

Its a shame that all of this happened under the PPP, as well as the killing of other people too, like a lot of  businessmen. This is where the PNC now have the upper hand because the refusal of the PPP to investigate crimes like Sash Shaw makes it look like the PPP and its leaders were implicit in these killings or simply ignored it...its a terrible shame...after the Sawh family begged the PPP leaders to investigate and bring closure to this terrible crime.

Lets be honest...for those of you who are now blaming everything on the PNC (yes they are guilty of plenty) these questions need to be raised of the PPP...

The PPP never seemed to be concerned about its Indian supporters, many of whom they kept backward and tied to a failed sugar industry...Jagdeo and Jagan always condemn other leaders rather than bringing them into their leadership. They did the same to African intellectuals. How could Luncheon argue with a straight face that there were no qualified African diplomats...he is a knucklehead.

The more I learn about the PPP, I am starting to thing that their leaders did not have the FINESSE to govern the country...Jagdeo and his uncouth behavior scratching himself, Ramotar backballing, the Education Minister cussing down a young lady, another minister pistol-whipping another Indian, a brilliant legal mind like Nandalall seeking sexual favors for his uncle... Can anyone imagine Granger doing some of this stufff?.

I believe that this was also what angered Africans more than anything else...looking at how uncouth and lewd these leaders were and their inability to govern with the advantage of winning a free and fair election...they were in office but not really running the country and changing things. The PPP squandered their power and took advantage of their position to abuse their power. Thats why they are in such a mess today.

One has to admire Granger, if not respect him...he knows how to use his power...he is setting up his people for a long time to come...

Yes, blame the coalition for their BS, but the PPP is to be blamed for what is happening to their supporters today...whether people admit this or not. The PPP needs to reinvent itself....dont see this happening under Jagdeo.

Stop the cheery picking. Start from the 1960’s. Do we remember the name Michael Ford . What about my school mate, Godfrey Texeira. A Truth and Reconciliation Commission is the only procedure that would bring forth the truth and heal the divide that is preventing Guyana from moving forward. This is tit for tat. When is it going to end. Guyana is stuck in a racial divide that seems to have no end. Long Live Democracy.

Right on point. These issues should have been addressed from the time the first atrocities were committed. Mind you, both sides, and I say both sides because for all intents and purposes Guyana is PPP vs PNC, suffered and both are guilty whether to different extents. The Burnham Government did nothing and neither did the subsequent administrations. If you want to show fairness and equality, start at the beginning.

I am all for fairness let the chips fall. There is a huge difference between our thoughts of the crooked politicians roaming the homeland.

Granger is being a shithead.  What Guyana needs is not some COI examining a narrow slice of history.  What is needed is a truth and reconciliation process to come clean and have a new beginning.

I tell you, with this approach, the future looks dull. It’s all tit for tat and no reset. The PPP did nothing about anything and the PNC picking and choosing.

Guyana will remain a shithole land with people leaving for greener pastures.  It seems even oil will become a headache!  Guyana seems blighted!

Vish, what you wrote is reciting history. You can criticize the PPP all you want and romance the PNC but give us answers.

Today Guyana has Apnu/AFC after 21/2 years tell us what have they done to progress the country, they create unemployment other than jobs, crime has escalated which they had the remedy before election.  We need to spend time to audit the present administration, they impact the people now. It is glaring to see the 50%pay raise, spent money on new Suv, refurbish state houses, missing $5M and hiding $18M, wasting money on Durban Park and big celebrations, yet on the other hand quick to close sugar factories and place 5,000 people out of living pay not to mentioned the many other families will be affected.  Let's  keep this government  in Line.

Not sure what the answers are, will leave that to the experts. But both sides have skeletons. For all of us to move forward, we need to air all the dirty dirty sides. The only problem is that the govt in power is always trying to get one up on the opposition. No one seems to want to reconcile and compromise...its like Afros and Indos are living in 2 different countries.

Since both sides are engaged in a zero sum competition, it will continue this way, or it will end when Afros have total control and Indos keep migrating.

That opportunity was missed by Cheddi Jagan.  He had the political and moral capital to initiate the process.  He would have gotten a lot of international support.  Instead he chose to behave as though game over never thinking today would arrive.  I have to say, all subsequent leader followed his lead.  Now the Pnc answering back, eye for an eye πŸ‘!

Guyana is a hopeless basket case.  Afros will eventually dominate the political landscape.    Thanks to the shortsighted and myopic leadership coming out of the PPP!
