It is a Guyanese thing. About ten years ago, I went with a visiting Guyanese relative to the consulate in Toronto and was shocked by the lack of professionalism at the consulate.

Very sad.

Embassy staff are not members of the government. They are on foreign soil being paid to represent their citizens. Maybe it is time for us to start making noise about our High Commissions and embassies.

I don’t think that would change. This has happened under successive administrations. It does not hurt to file complaints but it always falls on deaf ears.

Mr. T., I don't think there is any Guyana Embassy or a representative worse than the Miami location. It was discussed in the newspapers and here on this forum a few years ago. 

I used to know a few people at the London location a decade ago but they have all been recalled or relocated in recent years. Try to contact Carl Browne and see if he can put you on to the right person. He's a good guy but he doesn't have a big job at the embassy. Gilly might know him from the broadcasting world. He used to be on GBS many moons ago.

I want to know more about this land they intend to give out in compensation. I got my eyes set on some land on Pradoville if there are going to be hand outs.
