Finance Minister Winston Jordan

─ achieved through better accountability and transparency in Govt

The contingency fund has remained untouched by the Government of Guyana for the last two years.

Minister of Finance, Winston Jordan during a recent interview with the National Communications Network said:

“It will be the second consecutive year when not a single cent has been taken from the contingency fund 2017, and now 2018.”

According to the minister, to have an untouched contingency fund for two consecutive years in Guyana is something which was not done in the last three decades. He said this was achieved through better accountability and transparency practised by the APNU+AFC Government.

“We have so far been able to manage to such an extent, to use what… has been given to us and what has been given to us as supplementary appropriation bills.”

The Finance Minister explained that having a background in finance and being a person dedicated to financial prudence, he wanted to adhere to the constitution.

The government is not in the business of hoarding one way and borrowing in another. That does not make sense to me. What ever the sum in the contingency fund  should be contingent on pressing needs.

I hear you. That was sports equipment. It was immoral for him to do that. However, two wrongs don't make a right. It's not algebra here where two negatives make a positive. Please let them leave the peoples' money alone before they leave. They criticized the PPP for stealing and promised they would be baby Jesus.

Contingency fund is untouched because those sugar workers are wondering where their next meal is coming from. They are being starved out by racist hardcore anti-koolie because they are koolie.

Lies A BIG FAT LIE  Anthony gives it to Afro village. He solicited funds / Gears from US in the private sector. We thought it would be given out equally.

When Enmore and Enterprise asked him for assistance, he directed them to hold fund raising.

So in reality, it was the Indians who always gives to the blacks. And we have no problem doing so, Africans has always demonstrated a more keen interest in sports than Indians.

It was Neil Kumar who was incharge of this Department that store the sports equipment and it caught Anthony by surprise after the discovery.
