(CNN) -- In a gesture toward the romance of Valentine's Day, Pope Francis on Friday gave his advice on how to have a happy marriage before thousands of young engaged couples.

The unprecedented event, held under brilliant winter sunshine in a packed St. Peter's Square in Vatican City, may reflect Francis' desire to be closer to ordinary people's lives.

Pope Francis said.....Don't be afraid to marry

Don't go to bed angry

How about sex?

The idea of priests and nuns in the catholic church is not doctrine but dogma.  It was adopted out of no scriptural authority but on the idea that it affords the individual complete commitment to God. The early christian church certainly did not practice this. It came to be some 300 years after Christ ( and on the presumption that Christ was not married). It is as groundless as the idea of women wearing burkas increases their humility. Even Catholics are revolting against it. The Episcopal church allow its priests to marry. They even have women, gay and lesbian members of the episcopate

As a Catholic, I endorse your sentiments and academic rendition of the celibacy tradition.
