No. It was built under the coalition govt administration at a time when they have been discredited for underdevelopment in Guyana. It means some investors still have confidence in the government and the economy.

Django, I was looking for Mattai's business. Please bring it over here for me. Thanks.
You need proper concession stands, IMAX experience etc to attract back the people. The young generation I will guess prefer TV

so, when a business fails, don't blame the Govt
If you going to blame them for business failures, then you have to credit them for business successes
Well i guess with cinemas these days you get round all the bases. As compared to our days

Mattai’s opens new food mart
The government should bring in Afghan refugees and encourage them to sell chicken and rice form those carts that are popular in NYC. We will have fun seeing them getting robbed and pushed with their carts all the way in the Tiger Bay and Sophia.
LOts of windows, when PNC lose in 2020, Mo Fiah Slo Fiah winwods gone fuh channa.
Another project started under the PPP and now slop can boys taking credit.
I know a thing or two about "chine", the business owner of the hotel and cinema establishment that has connection with AFC overseas base in Florida. I don't care who takes credit. I am happy for Berbicians.

Djanjo , the vision and ground work was in place before this government , lets not praise this government for any achievement . after 20 years ,and they are surviving , we can speak a different language .
BTW , we have business in Guyana and it’s a struggle for survival. Mattai is one of our customer and he carry a variety of traditional Indian food stuff ( spices ) his upper level will be rented out to offices .
The PNC boys will rent them , every commission of enquiry is a new office for the lawyers who already have offices.
This is how Indian businessmen make money with PNC in office .
Let's be real, the Indians are the business people, they have the money to invest. This is called moving the money, if you hoard cash ,it depreciates, inflation eats it up, but investing, it multiplies. Frankly, if the Indians don't invest, the country will go into a recession, they create jobs, people earn a living and they spend. Indians have to play the political game, openly support whoever in government, so as to get foreign currency, imports and security.

I was referring to the heading of the post,"Credit To APNU/AFC". how misleading.
Great News from Classic international.
This is truly an excellent investment. Their hotel is up to excellent standards and excellent google reviews. I plan to visit Guyana in 2018 and will be staying at Classic International at No. 79 Village Corriverton. (former home of Chief and Skelly.) In fact, I might even have an opportunity to meet with a Minister of APNU depending on his schedule.
Corriverton had several cinemas, all of which closed down. There was Novelty, Maya, Radio City and earlier Metro and Star. The growth of television closed down Cinemas in the 90's.
There is nothing better than a cinematic experience while watching a movie. I hardly watch TV. I use a 10ft Screen and an high end projector and I love the experience. Times are changing in Guyana and Cinemas will make a comeback in due course but not to the same extent as it did during the glory days. I think that Roopmahal Cinema at Rose Hall, Berbice is still standing and was recently rebuilt.
They are adding features like Dolby Atoms, High End Projectors and Digital Pictures which has replaced film. The owner of Classic International will do well because people from "down the coast" will make up a large part of the audience at this cinema.
I think that Mohini Cinema at No. 64 Village might still exist.
This is great news for the town of Corriverton which I so love to visit. In fact, I met my first love (my mixed girlfriend) at Radio City Cinema, Corriverton.

if Chinee is involved and you know him, then you know the source of funds and what the intent is with the cinema operations.

I remember Chinee from Crabwood Creek being one of the biggest Contraband dealer in Berbice during the Burnham days of banned foodstuff. He became extremely wealthy. Good to see that he is investing his money wisely.

Mattai has been in business a long time, perhaps even before Burnham regime. I remember the Mattai store on Water Street in the early 1970s selling split peas, gera, channa and various spices imported from India.

Chinee went to Line Path Govt. Secondary School at the same time I did. He was a couple forms lower. His sister was my classmate.

Chinee had graduated to other things. Now, he is trying to look legitimate. At present, he has set up some legitimate businesses. Remember several years ago, when his house in Crabwood creek where his son was living was shot up by gunmen.
The last I saw him, he was hugging Harmon at one of his relative wedding.

I heard about his "graduation" but I cannot confirm. The shooting at his son's house was in all major newspapers publishing in Guyana.
Business people have to always be close to politicians from all parties, it make business sense.
I hope that he ketch sense and keeps his business legit and stays clear from his "graduation." stuff.
Yuji, I heard you going to Guyana next year and plan to meet with APNU MP's. Can you meet with Granger and tell him everything you said about him on GNI? In closing your conversation, tell him he can't even build a sh!t house. Lol

Regardless what you guys believe and what illegal activities he has done, Chinee has always been there for his people in CWC and Skeldon. He used his resources to help the unfortunate. And yes, many said he was dealing in drugs. He was also accused of money laundering in NY(I think).
