The body of a male Cuban national was found on the East Bank Demerara (EBD) roadway in the wee hours of Tuesday with a wound to his neck.
According to reports, the body was discovered around 01:30h at Providence, EBD, in close proximity to MACORP. The dead man has been identified as 47-year-old Joel Perez Laffita.
No one has been arrested in connection with the Cuban national’s death. However, Guyana Times understands that the Police are currently conducting investigations into the death of Laffita and are checking out footage from surveillance cameras in the area in hopes of finding clues that will lead them to the perpetrators.
The body of the 47-year-old man is at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
