Over 1.1 million dollars of hard earned tax payers money is spent at every sitting of the National Assembly, the elected representatives are expected to go their and speak on their behave, the non attendance of the AFC today, is a slap in whoever they represents.

The AFC has no shame, they would still turn up to collect their parliamentary allowance in full.

The Parliament Office should cut their allowance for today!!!!

Why don't the PPP propose legislation to deter the reciept of pay in light of rampant absenteeism as you suggest exists? Either you do the right thing or shut your mouth. Trying to gain political mileage from this is a waste of time.

I would like to bring your attention to the double dipping problem that the PPP neglects to address. Let them address the prominent placement of their party members on various duplicate positions where they definitely cannot do the job well given the demands of the job. But I guess the PPP is full of such excellent fast workers we should not worry....not!!!!

Don't you have any shame? You are paid with taxpayers' money to post PPP propaganda on GNI. That is misappropriation of taxpayers' money. You don't even do a good job of it even though any moron can cut and paste crap like you do.

You do not get to speak for them. The AFC represents them as long as they term of their office exists. I guess being nit pickers of the law you will understand that. You cannot pretend you know what is in the minds of the electorate given you have no mathematical data nor does any of us expect you are possessed of the talent to grasp such data. You are being your usual PPP shill with pretending to speak for people you have no authority to speak for. Speak for yourself.

The PPP should also turn in their allowances, since they do not represent their constituents but merely rob them blind to build their mansions.

FYI, Conscience, from 1964 to 1992 the elected representatives of the PPP boycotted parliament on many occasions.

Big bad Burnham and the wicked PNC regime didn't cut PPP parliamentarians' pay and allowances.

Another thing, Dr CBJ boycotted parliament so many times that Burnham often called him "Cheddi Boycott Jagan." Check the old newspapers.

The only thing sinister here is a PPP idiot insisting what was PPP base strategy, walking out or "boycotting" and yet receiving their wages is now a crime. Wake up fool and pretend you have some sense. Then at least you can hope to get some by osmosis.

I agree 100% for any non-attendance. All parliamentarians are supposed to be dedicated to the nation's business. If the AFC wants to act like children during important matters, they should never seek to be in parliament in the first place.

The AFC has nothing positive to contribute to parliament. They are just there for the money and out to destroy Guyana.

What a selfish and crooked bunch !

Bhai Yuji,
The PPP also has it's faults. Please don't forget to include the rig and frig party..PNC. They can't wait to get their hands on Guyana's assets. It'll be "one for you, three for me".

I agree that the PPP is not perfect. Lot and lots of room for improvement.

AFC refuses to deal with internal corruption.

We read about Nigel and his stories very often and no one in the AFC wants to address it.

PNC is corrupt and rotten at it's very core.

Given the three, I will pick the PPP any day of the week.

The average citizen is very upset on the way certain parliamentarians are behaving, those parliamentarians are elected to serve the people and are will compensated for time spend in the National Assembly, one point one million per sitting (to be exact), to see a whole political party just pack up and walk out of the house before the all important budget speech is totally uncalled for.
