Datadin, Ramraj lead ECD to victory over EBD

Outstanding all-round performances by Romel Datadin and Chanderpaul Ramraj handed East Coast Demerara (ECD) a 111-run win over East Bank Demerara (EBD) when the Inter-Association U15 50-over tournament commenced on Sunday last in Demerara.
Datadin struck three fours in a top score of 50 and shared in a sixth-wicket stand of 67 with Ramraj to guide East Coast Demerara to 185 all out in 46.1 overs after they opted to bat at Enterprise. Ramraj slammed five fours in his 45, while Ajay Gainda made 17 and Sanjay Persaud 12. Saurav Singh and Varun Mangal picked up 2-20 each, while Krsna Singh claimed 2-22 and Joshua Thomas 2-40.
Steady bowling by Datadin and Ramraj restricted East Bank Demerara response with only Mangal and Saurav Singh with 16 each offered any resistance as they were bowled out for 74 in 24.1 overs. Datadin finished with 4-20, Ramraj 3-8 and Davindra Sukhu 2-17.
The competition continues on Friday.
