Dave has been an invaluable source of what has taken place in Guyana over the past three months. He began with the PPP elections campaigns and rallies through the March 2, 2020 elections and up to the good ruling of the High Court today. I am sure that he will be there through the rightful swearing in of President Ali. There were many attempts to shut him down but he persevered in the face of all the naysayers and to his credit is standing tall on the correct side of history. Commendations are highly in order.

You know, wid all de shit dat get posted on GNI, everyone have the same thing in mind. A betta life fa de ordinary people in Guyana. Rass man, I am torn with what me see and the people deserve better.

I think this is the last elections that will have this much drama. One thing was learned by this elections. Candidates have to work to earn votes and when given the vote has to work hard to keep that vote. The PNC were still thinking like they were in the 1980s where they can get away with playing bully but technology was able to expose their attempt to rig the elections. The PPP prior to losing in 2015 had forgotten how it felt to be in the Opposition (some never knew it) so they did not do everything to keep the voters' trust. In just five short years (maybe less) the voters lost patience, trust and confidence in the Coalition Party they voted like bosses for in 2015. All of these new elections realities coupled with Guyana's oil and gas prospects will turn it into a country where everyone will see their lives improved. Why? Because the politicians have learned from this years elections that the true bosses are the voters. Things looking up for Guyanese. But first the PNC has to be willing to get out of the 1980's and into the 21st century.
