With regard to Mr. Burnham, Dr Jagan never mixed his political relationship and his personal relationship.  The two men were always friendly at the personal level and never made politics ruin their personal relationship.  Almost all of the Jagans were like that ( they never allowed politics to ruin their personal relationships) with probably the exception of maybe Mrs J.  I think that was a good thing.

I think it was a good thing too.

My big problem is that when ordinary Indo  PPP members were seen socializing with Afros, they were suspected of selling secrets to the PNC.

I had a number of black friends. They knew I was a PPP activist and I knew some of them supported the PNC. Our political affiliations didn't affect our friendship which was not based on politics.

But, it seems, some of my PPP comrades thought otherwise, as I was reminded privately by a GNI member only last year.
