[www.inewsguyana.com] – Eighteen – year – old Michael Grant, a suspected bandit of Agricola, East Bank Demerara is dead and his 19 – year – old accomplice, Curtis Castello also from Agricola , is nursing gunshot injuries to his neck and arm, while another managed to escape during an attempted robbery on Saturday, June 06.

According to information reaching iNews, the trio was on two motorcycles at a drinking spot on the East Bank of Demerara and attempted to rob a businessman of his chain.

One of the bandits fired shots at the businessman who returned fire with license firearm, hitting Grant and Castello. The men then fled the scene but dumped off Grant in front the Diamond Hospital, where he died.

Police set up roadblocks along the way and managed to apprehend an injured Castello, who is under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital; however the third bandit
